Walrus resting on an iceberg

The walrus has a wide distribution that includes the Barents Sea, Kara Sea and Svalbard. They tend to live in shallow waters, since Walruses feed at the bottom of the sea – eating clams, molluscs, worms, snails, soft shell crabs, shrimp, sea cucumbers and slow-moving fish.
