The noble walrus Fog covering Maubisse valley

Arctic tern parent and child

The Arctic tern has the longest migration in the animal kingdom, encompassing both ends of the planet – all the way from the Arctic and the Antarctic. During the winter Arctic terns forage at the edges of pack-ice, icebergs and ice-floes near shore and up to 24 kilometres offshore, often in association with Antarctic minke whales.
